Oak Park overlooks a river and sandstone ledges. This park is a place for rock climbing as the area has the largest outcropping of rocks in Central Michigan. A more challenging area for rock climbers is located at the end of West Front Street.
Eaton County Parks cover over 300 acres and provide a variety of outdoor facilities and recreational opportunities during the year.
This park is open year-round and offers six picnic areas, three miles of nature trails and a nature center. Fishing is accessible and the park has a volleyball court, a basketball court, two horseshoe pits, a skateboard park and a playground. Golfing, canoeing, sledding, and cross-country skiing are accessible activities in the 78-acre Fitzgerald Park.
Located in downtown Grand Ledge, Island Park is a place for the city's festivals and fairs.
