Color Cruise and Island Festival celebrates fall with an unmatched combination of nature's glories and mid-Michigan good times. Pioneer demonstrations, Civil War encampment, fur traders and Father Marquette, petting zoo, entertainment, food, classic vehicles and boat/wagon/airplane/helicopter rides. Grand Ledge cloaks itself in finery so vivid and exciting in October that one would think there was a party.

Celebrate fall with an unmatched combination of nature's glories and mid-Michigan good times. Autumn is celebrated with pioneer demonstrations and fall related activities, music and food. Children can cuddle bunnies or pet llamas, try a craft or crank a corn sheller. Sample freshly pressed apple cider, black kettle caramel corn, chili, hotdogs and brats and more. Listen to folk music on traditional instruments, voices raised in hearty harmony and the rhythmic thud of cloggers. Weaving, basketry and more round out the family festival. Featured in 2012 are: a Teddy Bear Tea and Maypole Dance especially for the youngsters; a High Tea; a Victorian mass; a Gilbert & Sullivan sing-a-long; a Victorian "Dressing for the Day" symposium; a "Parlour Games" symposium; Civil War encampments & demonstrations; a quilt show; our 4th annual moustache contest; carriage and riverboat rides; featuring artisans and craftspeople displaying their vintage crafts and skills.
